Hounslow Civic Centre

The London borough of Hounslow were looking for a 3 year maintenance free solution for their 3 storey Civic Centre office block, including walkways and meeting rooms, staffed throughout a 14 hour day.

The Requirement:

The client was passionate about finding a unique, sustainable, long term solution. Not only must it offer the same high quality light, it also needed to adhere to their rigorous policy of reducing their carbon footprint.

Prolite LED lighting was the obvious choice. The lights needed to offer the same light output, give a strong return on investment, reduce maintenance costs, have a high power factor, a low energy usage and have minimal recycling costs.

The Solution:

After a site evaluation, the Prolite technical team advised replacing the T12 lamps with 8ft T8 LED tubes, each using just 44W’s of energy. The life expectancy of the new lighting system will vastly reduce maintenance costs for the Civic Centre as replacements will not be required for at least 10 years.

Key Publishing

Prolite refits Key Publishing’s offices with energy saving LED Lighting.

Having published magazines and media for over 30 years, Key Publishing is now firmly established as the world’s leading publisher of transport and specialist leisure titles.

Overview:

The lighting system originally in place used power hungry fluorescent lights that needed frequent maintenance. Overall the light levels were lower than required in an office environment.

The Requirement:

The Prolite Projects team were invited to become involved in a complete office re-fit project to modernise Key Publishing’s premises in Stamford, Lincolnshire.  The project required the Prolite projects team to work alongside various other tradespeople from interior designers through to decoration teams.

The client was passionate about finding a unique, sustainable, long term solution.  The final lighting solution needed to meet the following requirements:

  • It needed to offer a strong return on investment,
  • It needed to reduce current maintenance costs,
  • Light levels needed to be significantly higher
  • The solution must have a low energy usage
  • There must be minimal recycling costs.

The Solution:

After a full site evaluation, the Prolite Projects technical team selected multiple LED lighting products from within the Prolite Lamps range for the different areas of the site. All fittings met the requirements of the client and offered significantly higher light levels than the old lighting system.

In total, 150 units were installed across the site with minimal inconvenience to the working day. The final solution will give Key Publishing brighter work spaces with a 60% energy saving.
